Cumberland Island Overnight Kayak Trip
Join us on our excursion to amazing Cumberland Island National Seashore. This is a three day, two night kayaking camping trip. As one of the largest maritime forests in the US, and one of the largest undeveloped barrier islands in the world, the natural environment of Cumberland is incredible. Exploring the island is like stepping back in time. With the islands rich history and amazing natural features, this is one trip you will never forget.
We start out on the first day in the kayaks exploring the southern tip of the island. After paddling for most of the morning, we set up camp at Sea Camp. That night your guides will cook a meal for you that will definitely raise the bar for camping food. The next morning after another tasty meal, we walk south to tour the Icehouse Museum, the ruins of Dungeness Mansion, and the many other historic buildings still standing from the island's heyday. This is a gentle 5 mile walking tour that ends back at Sea Camp where lunch is waiting. The rest of the day is your own to explore the island as you want. That evening your guides raise the bar again with another scrumptious meal. On day three, we have another great breakfast and start breaking camp. After
loading our boats back up we head south again, to the worst part of the trip, back to our cars and civilization.
These tours can be planned any weekday with at least 4 paddlers. Best time of year is Spring and Fall.
