Do I need to wear a life jacket?

Life jackets can be the determining factor between life and death in many boating accidents. According to the National Safe Boating Council, each year 700-800 people die in boating related accidents - 9 out of every 10 victims were not wearing a life jacket. The US Coast Guard has reported a significant increase in canoe and kayak deaths over the past 10 yrs.(More than other boating accidents, including 'Jet-skis'!) Almost all of these incidents were individuals paddling alone. These statistics are disturbing. We require our guests to wear their PFDs at all times on the water and encourage everyone else to do so as well. Because of these deaths there is talk of more regulation of small water craft which will translate to more fees and paper work for everyone.

Can I bring alcohol with me?

Besides the fact that mixing watersports and alcohol is a very risky behavior, we are located in a State Park where alcohol is prohibited.
